How to Use the Bounty Board
Our bounty board is a system for organizing and incentivizing contributions to our project. This guide explains how to use it effectively.
For Contributors
Finding a Bounty
- Visit the Bounty Board main page
- Browse available bounties by category or browse the full list
- Click on any bounty to view its details
Claiming a Bounty
- Find a bounty you'd like to work on
- Edit the bounty page
- Change the status parameter from "Open" to "In Progress"
- Add your username to the "assigned_to" parameter
- Save the page
Submitting Completed Work
- Edit the bounty page
- Change the status parameter from "In Progress" to "Under Review"
- Add a comment in the discussion page with links to your contribution
- Notify an admin (see the contact information on the bounty page)
Receiving a Reward
After your work is reviewed and approved:
- An admin will change the status to "Completed"
- Your reward will be provided according to the details on the bounty page
- The bounty will be moved to the Completed Bounties category
For Bounty Creators
Creating a New Bounty
- Visit the New Bounty template page
- Click "Create/Edit Bounty Task" (create a page with an appropriate name like "Bounty: Task Name")
- Copy the template and fill in all required fields
- Add detailed requirements and acceptance criteria
- Add appropriate categories at the bottom of the page
- Save the page
Managing Bounties
- Check In Progress Bounties regularly
- Follow up with contributors who claimed bounties
- Review submitted work promptly
- Update status accordingly
Bounty Statuses
- Open - Available for anyone to claim
- In Progress - Currently being worked on by someone
- Under Review - Work has been submitted and is being reviewed
- Completed - Successfully finished and reward has been given
- Cancelled - No longer available or needed
Timeouts
If no progress is made on an "In Progress" bounty for 14 days, any admin may reset it to "Open" status and remove the assignee.
